"Innervisions" visually pays homage to Stevie Wonder's iconic album of the same name. It features a man engrossed in a View-Master, embarking on a journey through the inner world of Stevie's music. The dreamlike Magritte-esque cloudscape, mirrors the album's emotional depth. Bold red and deep blue represent the album's passionate and introspective moments. Just as Stevie's music transcends boundaries, this artwork invites viewers to explore their own inner visions through its vibrant portrayal.
Anne Claire de Breij (Naarden, 1984) graduated from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague in 2008. Her tightly stylized images, with characteristic use of color, a strong graphic character and an eye for detail, are often immediately recognizable. Reality and fiction intermingle to alienate the audience or make them laugh with playful absurdism. Anne Claire looks for visual beauty in her images, but builds it up in layers. To achieve this she uses extensive sets and precise compositions. Her sense of aesthetics makes Anne Claire a much sought-after photographer within her niche. Her work has been featured in Volkskrant Magazine, Huis Marseille Amsterdam Photography Museum, FOAM and EYE, among others. In 2013 she published her first photo book Dutch Champions and her second, THE MUKADE AND THE MOUNTAIN, will be published in the spring of 2023, with work she made during an artist in residency in Japan. Last year, Anne Claire won the SO Award 2022 from DuPho, the jury considered her work to be "almost real life photo collages. Her use of color is fantastic, the composition is always fun and there is never a lack of humor."
